Finland Fiasco

Well on my previous blog I said that all the signs were telling us to stay away from a snowboarding trip to Finland...well the final nail in the coffin was when we turned up at the airport last Sunday and were told that the flight left 5 hours ago! We had been given duff flight times by the holiday company and with pretty much all flights going to snow destinations having already left we didn't really have many options. So after spending an hour on the phone to the holiday company we phoned our lift and returned home feeling just a little pissed off. Managed to get some biking in though last week in the cold crisp conditions so it wasn't all bad.
I've also just had an email from my mate that should have been on the Finland trip with me and he's come accross the picture below on pinkbike.com. We've been going to Cannock in Staffordshire for years now and have been watching the progress of a ladder drop that they've been buiding for what seems an age now. The great news is that it looks like it is now finished. I'll let you know what it's like after our next trip there which hopefully will be towards the end of the month. I've also been checking out the Chase DH Build Blog and it looks like they've been busy building other stuff as well over the last few weeks. I am especially looking forward to hitting the 7m table below the big drop...that looks like it will be sweet! Please note though this section of the trail is currently closed until at least 25th Jan as it is not quite finished yet so please respect the builders work and do not attempt to ride it until it is open.
