About us

The idea behind Freeride Junkie was to produce some tees that were a little more home grown than the big players' tees.  Not only that, we wanted to make sure that the tees were of a really high quality so that you could actually feel the quality when wearing the tee.  All too often you buy a t shirt over the net and when you put it on it feels like your wearing a sack against your skin!  That's the other great benefit of going organic - because no chemicals are used you can really feel the difference in comfort next to your skin.

With all the things we now know about certain big companies using sweatshops to produce cheap (and also some not so cheap products) we thought it would be appropriate to use manufacturers that employ a strict ethical policy in producing their t shirts. Our suppliers close relationships with farmers, ginners (who separate the organic cotton fibre from the seed), spinners and factory owners ensures that their ethical employment standards are met at every level.  This includes ensuring that all workers involved in the various stages of production from field to factory are provided with decent wages and fair employment conditions, following the guidelines set out in the Ethical Trading Initiative Labour Standards Code.  Well if we are going to do this we thought we had better get it right from the start!

We're also really excited about our organic bamboo tees.  We've been testing these for quite a while now and they certainly live up to their billing.  They wick really well and are lightweight so dry really quick whilst on.  They don't retain odour and keep you cool when it's warm and warm when it's cool. In fact they have very similar properties to that of merino wool but because you are not relying on a small population of sheep in New Zealand or the Scottish Highlands bamboo is more readily available and consequently better value for money.

Thanks for dropping by...and... don't forget, next time you're out with your bros...take a few more chances...hit the rock drop at Wharncliffe, plant the wall ride at Glentress, ride the big teeter step down at Chicksands or just ride down a big unchartered moorland steep...oh...and of course...'Keep it Foolish'.
